It’s a Wonderful Life  Meets The Shack

"It’s as if Jackie took one of Jesus’ parables and put a modern day slant to it."

“A truly unique book about dying to self and developing a heart for the poor, woven into a modern day story placed in a 3rd world nation.”

“A refreshing Christian novel—not just entertaining but these powerful lessons will grip your heart and change your life.”

Julie, a self-centered, nominal Christian, headed for a weekend shopping binge finds her manicured, pedicured, self-absorbed designer life shattered when she sits with Jesus on a train to New York. When she gets off she’s in India. Her divine assignment? Care for 11 filthy orphans living on a garbage dump before she can return home.

Can she protect the orphans from a predator who steals and maims children and sends them out to beg? How will God provide food when her wallet is stolen? Can she find safe homes for the children? As she rescues them will they rescue her from her stone cold heart?

The answers to these questions will also be the answers to many of your questions about God, life and yourself. Pick up a copy of The Designer Bag at the Garbage Dump and jump into a great adventure!

TRANSFORMATIONAL...
I absolutely loved this book, even though I cried my way through it! Thank you, Jackie Macgirvin, for helping to change my focus and my perspective on so many things. Although neither Bible study nor literary fiction, this was a fun read with many perceptive thoughts included. One of my best reads this year. (Amazon Review)

PHENOMENAL WORD PICTURES THROUGHOUT THIS BOOK!
This book is a life-changing experience - for the reader and the main character!!! I have never read a book that was so much like watching a movie. I could visualize every word. The way the Words of Jesus are put in italics make them even more real. (Amazon Review)

A STORY OF COMPASSION, LOVE, AND FAITH
This book was recommended to me by a friend who said it had changed her life…. Julie's journey is a wake-up call for all of us to listen for God's still small voice & love others tangibly as Jesus would have us do. Please read it, enjoy it, and do something for the Kingdom of God. (Amazon Review)

A LIFE CHANGING READ
I so loved this book! The author nailed every emotion of the worldly Christian as she skillfully wove the most beautiful tale of redemption and a life transformed... While staying perfectly true to Scripture. Beautifully written... And powerfully anointed. (Amazon Review)

I just finished the book. It was so good and Eye opening. So sad, we have been to Honduras where we have seen children used for this purpose, to work for change, money etc. We are heading to Africa soon, to help children that have so little that they also struggle for food.
